Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe often draws his inspiration for his Halakhoth (Halachot) and pearls of Torah from the Ben Ish Hai, Hakham Yoseph Hayyim, 'a"h. In addition, the daily bulletins include a wide variety of sources: Shulhan Arukh (Shulchan Aruch), Kaf Hahayim (Kaf Hachaim), Mishnah Berurah (Mishna Brura) and many other sources.

Pesah: Hasebah - Leaning on a friend's shoulder

Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe
Sunday, March 22, 2009/Adar 26, 5769
On Leil Pesah (the night of Pesah) Hasebah (leaning) is required when eating the Masah and drinking the Arba' Kosoth (four cups of wine). This is to show Heruth (that we are free people). Normally one would bring comfortable cushions that we could lean on.

The question is, what if somebody leaned on the shoulder of the person who was sitting next to him. Is this considered to be Hasebah (leaning) or not, since this is not the way a person would lean in order to show his freedom?

The answer is that this form of leaning is considered to be Hasebah.
