There are those whose business commonly takes them on extended overseas trips throughout the year. The Radbaz was asked whether a Hathan (bridegroom) in his first year of marriage is permitted to go overseas on a business trip.
The basis of the problem is that is says in the Torah (Parashath Ki These), "When a man marries a new wife ... he shall be free for his home for one year and shall make his wife happy". This sounds like the husband must be available for his wife throughout the first year.
In a decision in his work of Responsa, Rab Pe'alim, Hakham Yoseph Hayyim, 'a"h, quotes what many Posqim have mentioned and reaches the decision that if the bridegroom is travelling for his livelihood, then this prohibition mentioned in the above-mentioned verse, does not apply.
