ATorahMinute.com is a project of Midrash BEN ISH HAI where you can learn Torah anytime. It will send you a short Daily Halacha or daily Torah by Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe.

Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe often draws his inspiration for his Halakhoth (Halachot) and pearls of Torah from the Ben Ish Hai, Hakham Yoseph Hayyim, 'a"h. In addition, the daily bulletins include a wide variety of sources: Shulhan Arukh (Shulchan Aruch), Kaf Hahayim (Kaf Hachaim), Mishnah Berurah (Mishna Brura) and many other sources.

Writing the contents of the Tefillin in the correct order

Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe
Wednesday, October 14, 2009/Tashri 26, 5770
Tefillin contain the following four Parashioth (sections from the Torah):
1. Qaddesh Li
2. Wehaya Ki Yebiakha
3. Shema' Yisrael
4. Wehaya Im Shamowa'

These sections must be written in the above-mentioned order. If they were written out of order they become Pasul (unfit for ritual use).

In addition, the Parashioth for the Tefillin Shel Yad (Tefillin worn on the arm) should be written before the sections for theTefillin Shel Rosh (the ones worn on the head.) However, if they were not written in that order, after the fact (Bedi'abad) they may still be used.
