Why did Isaac want to bless Esau?

Rabbi Ya'aqob Menashe
Friday, November 20, 2009/Kislew 3, 5770
Yishaq Abinu (Isaac) 'a"h, asks 'Esau to bring him delicacies, and says: "Ba'abur Tebarekhekha Nafshi" (so that my soul will bless you).

People often question what Yishaq Abinu's (Isaac's) intention was when he blessed 'Esau. Didn't  he know who 'Esau really was? Did 'Esau really manage to fool him? Why else would Yishaq Abinu, 'a"h, wish to bless him?

According to Rabbenu Hayim Wittal, z"l, his intention in blessing 'Esau was to correct his ways and to bring him into the path of holiness, and to bestow blessings upon him so that he would become a G-d fearing individual and do Teshubah (repentance).

Rabbenu Hayim Wittal, z"l, adds that G-d's will, however, was that only Ya'aqob Abinu (Jacob) would be blessed and that 'Esau would remain the way he was. That is why Ya'aqob Abinu, 'a"h, was the one to receive the blessings.
